Joint operation at East Croydon and West Croydon train stations |

This afternoon, officers from the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and British Transport Police (BTP) carried out a joint operation at East Croydon and West Croydon train stations, utilising specialist drug detection dogs to identify individuals involved in the possession and supply of controlled substances. The operation resulted in numerous drug seizures and the arrest of an individual for possession of a weapon. Officers also identified and safeguarded two vulnerable people. Through a combination of both high-visibility and plain clothes patrols, proactive enforcement activity and intelligence-led policing, officers were able to disrupt criminal activity, remove harmful substances and weapons from the network, safeguard those at risk, and provide reassurance to the many people who travel through Croydon's transport hubs each day. The MPS will continue to work closely with BTP and other partners to target those involved in crime, helping to make Croydon a safer place to live, work and travel. | ||
